Parking
Parking is free and is first come, first served. Additional parking is available in the lot to the south of the Garden. Unless directed to do so, please do not park in the grass.
Weather
We have a Weather Station inside of the Garden to monitor the specific microclimate of the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.

Accessibility
Accessibility in the Garden
The majority of the paths in the Garden are accessible. Most paths are paved. Wheelchair ramps are present.
Service Animals
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks permits service animals on a leash or harness. Thank you for attending to and cleaning up after your service animal while visiting.
Bilingual Signage
The Garden features ten bilingual (English/Spanish) educational signs throughout the Garden, featuring topics related to habitats for pollinators, biodiversity in the Garden, Ozark native plants, and more.
Sensory-Friendly
We understand that the sensory experiences in our Garden can sometimes be overwhelming, with the sounds of lawnmowers, leaf blowers, live music, large groups of students, and the allure of colorful flowers. To ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors, we offer Sensory-Friendly Bags available at the Admissions Office.
Each Sensory-Friendly Bag includes:

- Binoculars
- A sensory-friendly map
- A magnifying glass
- A kaleidoscope
- Plant identification pamphlets

Frequently Asked Questions
Borrowed Backpack Program
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks provides a Borrowed Backpack Program for our young guests, which is sponsored by the Baum Foundation. There are 4 themed backpacks available for free to Garden guests. Ask for more information at the Admissions Office.
Bird Backpack: binoculars, books, toys, and a bird treasure hunt
Bug Backpack: magnifying glass, books, toys, and a butterfly treasure hunt
Flower Backpack: microscope, books, and toys
Teen Backpack: high-quality observational tools; not recommended for kids younger than 13
Sensory-Friendly Bag: a pair of ear defenders, sunglasses, fidget rings, binoculars, a sensory-friendly map, a magnifying glass, a kaleidoscope, and plant identification pamphlets.
Food & Drink
Outside food and drink are permitted, with the exception of glass of any kind. We appreciate your help keeping the Garden tidy and invite you to use the recycling and trash bins located by the exit.
Pet Policy
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks does not permit pets in the Garden, with the exception of service animals. The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks permits service animals on a leash or harness. Thank you for attending to and cleaning up after your service animal while visiting.
Butterfly Treasure Hunt & Research
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks has teamed up with University of Arkansas professor Dr. Erica Westerman and the Northwest Arkansas community to study whether butterfly wing patterns can be used to predict butterfly behavior. Pick up a checklist from the Admissions Office and keep your eyes out for butterflies as you wander through the Garden! The data you collect will help scientists address questions concerning animal behavior, diversity, and NWA pollinator community health.
Photography
Amateur photographers and garden guests are welcome to take photos throughout the Garden as long as they are for personal use and enjoyment, rather than for commercial or gallery use. Professional, promotional, and commercial photography requires a reservation at least one week in advance and a fee. Photography permits are not granted when our venue is reserved for a private event. On the day of your photo shoot, please check in at the Admissions Office
Garden Etiquette
For your safety, please do not pick, collect or eat plants, seeds, flowers, fruits, or vegetables.
Cyclists are welcome; please leave your bike at the racks near the entry gate.
The Garden is a tobacco-free campus.
No firearms or drones permitted.
