Sensory-Friendly
Visit the Admissions Window to borrow our Sensory-Friendly Bags!
Between lawnmowers, leaf blowers, live music, large groups of students, and many colorful flowers that are tempting to pick, our Garden can be overwhelming to guests who are prone to overstimulation. The Sensory-Friendly Bags have been created to provide an inclusive environment for all of our visitors!
Provided in each bag are a pair of ear defenders, sunglasses, fidget rings, binoculars, a sensory-friendly map, a magnifying glass, a kaleidoscope, and plant identification pamphlets.
The Garden is dedicated to implementing and supporting an inclusive and engaging outdoor learning experience for Northwest Arkansas.

Pet Policy
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks does not permit pets in the Garden, with the exception of service animals. All service animals must remain on a leash or harness at all times and may not be left unattended. You are responsible for controlling your service animal’s behavior. You are also responsible for cleaning up after your service animal.
Butterfly Treasure Hunt & Research
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks has teamed up with University of Arkansas professor Dr. Erica Westerman and the Northwest Arkansas community to study whether butterfly wing patterns can be used to predict butterfly behavior. Pick up a checklist from the Admissions Window and keep your eyes out for butterflies as you wander through the Garden! The data you collect will help scientists address questions concerning animal behavior, diversity, and NWA pollinator community health.
Photography
Amateur photographers and garden guests are welcome to take photos throughout the Garden as long as they are for personal use and enjoyment, rather than for commercial or gallery use. Professional, promotional, and commercial photography requires a reservation at least one week in advance and a fee. Photography permits are not granted when our venue is reserved for a private event. On the day of your photo shoot, please check in at the Admissions Window.
