Tete-a-Tete Daffodil
Narcissus Tete-a-Tete
Narcissus ‘Tete-a-Tete’ is a heirloom daffodil that is often overlooked from the many different daffodils gardeners can plant. This early fragrant buttercup-yellow flowering daffodil is a must have. Each six inch tall stem will produce 2 to 3 flowers. This vigorous bulb can form large colonies in your perennial bed. Tete-a-Tete is known to appear in other parts of the bed. This happens because the small bulbs are easily moved without knowing when transplanting other perennial plants.
The cultivar was introduced in 1949 and quickly became the must have flower by gardeners. Tete-a-Tete means to have a conversation between two people, which relates to having a pair of flowers per stem. Plant Tete-a-Tete in the fall when planting other spring bulbs to a rock garden, garden borders, or even naturalized in lawns.
Here at BGO, you will find Tete-a-Tete in several locations with a majority along the creek side path. Plan on visiting the garden early this month to enjoy this spring ephemeral. Add this one to your must have list when shopping for spring bulbs this fall.

NWA Citizen Science Butterfly Project
A citizen science project between the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, the University of Arkansas, and you! Butterflies, birds, flowers, and a wide variety of animals and plants come in a spectacular range of colors and shapes. One of the main goals of biology is understanding why this variation exists, and how changes in color and shape influence behavior, such as feeding, resting and predator avoidance.
