The Garden has a dozen new residents thanks to the generosity of the Tyson family. These bronze statues of children in various states of play are a gift from the estate of Jean Tyson. Our gardeners and designers planned their locations and have strategically placed them around the Garden.
The Garden officially accepted the gift from Archie Schaffer, Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Tyson Foods, Inc., who represented the family. Annetta Young, Director, Corporate Philanthropy at Tyson Foods, Inc. was also in attendance.
These statues were a part of a larger set of 24. The others are currently being relocated around Northwest Arkansas, including the Jean Tyson Child Development Center on the University of Arkansas campus and the Tyson Corporate Headquarters.
Our new family members add so much to the experience of the garden. Their carefully chosen homes make them appear to be romping and playing in the Garden and have become an immediate favorite feature of the Garden for many members.
